Collection of sports equipment to come
GREENFIELD – Barely used balls, shoes and sports equipment are being collected January 16-22 as part of a project to help break down barriers for children who want to play sports but don’t have the means of purchasing equipment.
The project is part of Leadership Hancock County, an organization that teaches volunteers and professionals leadership skills while promoting community service. People can drop items off at collection bins at Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County, 715 E. Lincoln St., Greenfield; or any branch of the Hancock Wellness Center (Greenfield, New Palestine or McCordsville).
The age range for donated sports equipment is kindergarten through sixth grade. All types of sports equipment are accepted. A distribution date will be announced at a later date.
The project is in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County. For more, follow the group on Facebook at @ballshoesbarelyused or Instagram at ballshoesbarelyused.
