If you love digital collectibles, you’ve probably heard of the NFT platform, VeVe. Whether you’re a fan of pop culture, games, anime, sports, or movies, VeVe has something for everyone! From Batman and Marvel to Fast and the Furious, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, Disney, and more, VeVe offers NFTs from some of the biggest brands in the world.
Let’s dive deeper into the world of VeVe NFT collectibles!
What is Veve?
Simply put, VeVe is an app-based marketplace for buying, selling, and trading premium licensed NFT collectibles. It is available on iOS App Store and Google Play Store. VeVe makes it easier for fans to own unique, one-of-a-kind digital collectibles from all kinds of fandoms.
Founded in 2018, VeVe is a subsidiary of ECOMI, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency company. ECOMI created the platform to bring “premium licensed digital NFT collectibles to the mass market”.
VeVe also offers customizable virtual showrooms where you can display your collectibles in all their glory. Moreover, the platform has an Augmented Reality (AR) feature, using which you can bring your 3D collectibles to life. Just scan your surroundings and tap to drop your AR collectibles wherever you want. Then you can move them around as you wish, post them on social media or even send them to others.
This year, VeVe is preparing to launch its own metaverse, called VeVeVerse. According to the societyit will be “an immersive metaverse where fans and collectors can claim their right to a new and collaborative world of collecting.”
East Veve An NFT?
According to ECOMI website, VeVe allows users to “obtain common, rare or unique digital collectibles”. They can also “personalize them and showcase them in virtual showrooms”. Alternatively, they can “buy, sell, or trade collectibles with other VeVe users – all from the palm of their hand.”
Early last year, VeVe partnered with Immutable X to deliver a carbon-neutral, zero-gas NFT strike. By December 2021, VeVe has finished re-releasing all of its NFTs via Immutable X. With this decision, all VeVe NFTs are now on Ethereum’s layer 2 solution.
Is VeVe legit?
According to a report by SensorTower, VeVe is the largest NFT trading platform on mobile. The results relate to both global installations and consumer spending. At the time, VeVe’s total install count had reached nearly 744,000, driving $112.5 million in consumer spending.
Moreover, ECOMI has a fully doxxed team with rich experience. Its CEO and Founder, David Yu, is the founder of various businesses, including independent video game retailer, Games R Us and Retail Management Group Ltd.
Likewise, co-founder and COO, Daniel Crothers is a serial entrepreneur. Alfred Kahn, Licensing Manager, has more than 30 years of experience distributing and promoting iconic brands such as Cabbage Patch Kids and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Additionally, VeVe’s 3D digital collectibles are created by renowned sculptors such as Jim Lee, Todd MacFarlane, and Scott Snyder. These creators are famous for sculpting directly in 3D, instead of clay.
That said, the platform also has several drawbacks. For one, users must first purchase VeVe’s built-in currency, “Gems”, to purchase digital collectibles. It was only recently that VeVe made it possible to convert Gems to fiat. Second, users can only sell these collectibles on VeVe’s secondary market.
How does the VeVe app work?
First, you need to download the VeVe app on iOS or Android. Then you can create your account and start collecting digital collectibles in the store.
But, as mentioned earlier, you need gems to buy VeVe NFTs. Apparently this was introduced to make the process easier for unencrypted users. To buy gems, go to your app’s Wallet option and click “Get More Gems”. Remember, 1 gem is always equal to 1 USD.
Since most collectibles cost around 60 gems, you should have at least 60 gems in your wallet. You can buy the gems by credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay and other payment methods. Finally, click “Buy Now” to complete the transaction.
Recently, VeVe introduced a payment feature using which you can withdraw your gems and transfer them to your bank in fiat. Currently, the feature is in beta and is only available to a select number of customers. You need a minimum of 1000 gems to use the payout feature. Additionally, there is a minimum withdrawal of 50 gems and a maximum of 50,000.
The platform will also charge a 10% fee. The feature currently supports AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, and USD.
How to buy IMO to get your 1st VeVe collectible
OMI or ECOMI tokens are the utility tokens of VeVe. Now, whenever gems are used to purchase a VeVe NFT, the platform exchanges the corresponding IMO tokens for the NFT and then burns it. In other words, OMI tokens are taken out of supply and as VeVe’s user base grows, OMI’s supply will be lower. In short, as the supply decreases, the value of the token is likely to increase. Currently, OMI is trading at $0.00256.
You can buy IMO using USDT on a number of altcoin exchanges, including Gate.io, AscendEX (Bitmax), OKEx, BitMart, and BitForex. Alternatively, you can first buy Bitcoin or Ethereum from exchanges like Coinbase and trade them for IMO.
Then you can trade OMI for Gems on the VeVe app to buy the NFTs. Soon, VeVe will be rolling out a feature allowing users to transact directly with OMI on the VeVe marketplace (peer-to-peer). In the second phase of the OMI Utility rollout, users will be able to purchase a number of collectibles with OMI.
